BRAND DESIGN

For this project, I designed my own sunscreen company. Aurea is a sustainable company that embraces the warmth of the sun. With citrus inspired scents and reusable packaging, Aurea reimagines suncare into a product that users want to incorporate into their daily skincare routines.

The goal of this project was to create a unique brand that would stand out from it's competitors. It should have it's own unique logo, branding, and packaging that looks both professional and fun. Unlike other skincare brands, Aurea is accessible to a variety of users and allows users to be environmentally friendly.

The first main challenge of this project was coming up with a brand that is unique, but also something consumers would want to buy. Another challenge was developing packaging that is professional, but can stand out from competitors. It was my first time building a complete brand from scratch and developing all of the professional aspects that go into a brand guide.

The first step to my process was researching industries and deciding on a brand. Once I decided on suncare, I researched my competitors to make a brand that would stand out and have unique features. I then developed a name and several logo variations. From there, I created mood boards, color palettes, and type studies to begin developing my packaging. My last step was to create and logo animation and put my brand into a brand guide.

The result?

This project resulted in a new suncare brand called Aurea. There's a complete brand guideline from how the project came to be, to analysis of competitors and markets. This project taught me how to build a brand from start to finish, including using creative skills to come up with a unique brand. This project strengthened my logo development skills, as well as brand development.
